The Semenza hydroelectric power plant is located in Calusco d'Adda (Bergamo area) on the left bank of the River Adda, near the Robbiate dam. It is dedicated to the memory of engineer Guido Semenza.
The architecture of the building blends in with its surroundings, covered with logs from the Adda area. Beside the plant is the Edison Canal, with its intake building and the water guard's house.
The power plant was completely refurbished in 2002/03, installing two new generating units with Kaplan turbines. The power plant building was carefully restored on this occasion, preserving its original architectural form.
