Digital solutions for the cities of the future
A smart city is a place where traditional networks and services are made more efficient with the use of digital solutions for the benefit of its inhabitants and businesses (European Commission).
Edison is active in implementing smart cities projects to help public authorities and territories to design the cities of the future. In this context, the company is interested in developing and pursuing initiatives that are based on awareness of local resources and put people and the environment at the centre, with the aim of making mobility, spaces and buildings increasingly smart and in harmony with the environment.
Edison is involved in piloting a number of activities and initiatives, collaborating with leading Italian universities (POLIMI, POLITO, etc.) and research organisations (ENEA, etc.). .
In addition, it participates in MUSA (Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action), an innovation ecosystem funded by the Ministry of Universities and Research within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, a project in which universities and numerous public and private partners collaborate. The MUSA project aims to develop and test integrated innovations and plan interdisciplinary responses that act on several fronts of city management: environmental, technological, and economic and financial.
