Roio del Sangro Wind Farm (CH)

10 triblade wind turbines have been installed on site and have been functioning since September 2002. Each of them has a 0.6 MW unitary capacity, making a total installed capacity of 6 MW.
The energy produced by each wind turbine is collected at Medium Voltage, by means of an underground cable network. An underground duct connects the MV/LV cabins, and then goes on to the Electrical Station in Monteferrante, where the energy is transformed and enters the public grid at 150 kV voltage.

The wind farm is located in the Municipality of Roio di Sangro (Abruzzo, Southern Italy), in a mountainous area, characterised by scarce low and medium-sized trees and very rounded mountaintops.
