Edison with the orchestra of maggio musicale fiorentino for its concert in Istanbul

Istanbul, December 6th, 2012 – Edison, the Italian leading energy company operating in hydrocarbons and power businesses, supports the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in its concert hosted by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts. The concert will be held on December 7th at 20.00 at Haliç Congress Centre.

The Orchestra of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is one of the world’s greatest orchestras and a landmark in the Italian and European musical heritage. The Orchestra will perform under the baton of Mr. Zubin Mehta who has been Principal Conductor of the Orchestra since 1985 and belongs to the last generation of legendary conductors. In their Istanbul performance they will be joined by Güher & Süher Pekinel, widely regarded as the finest duo-pianist team of our time.

Edison has a historical tie with the top classic music since it supplied for the first time electricity to the legendary Teatro alla Scala in Milan in 1883. Edison’s partnership with La Scala still continues and this year’s Première will be emissions free thanks to the green energy supplied by the hydroelectric plants in Lombardy region, Italy.
