What is your job?
I'm a technical coordinator of project execution for the Oil&Gas projects in the hydrocarbon exploration and production department. I am in charge of evaluating, analysing and defining new projects and initiatives for our department. I have been working for Edison since 1999. I started in the engineering department, where I held a technical position in instrument automation; then I moved on to a technical coordinator position and later became project manager. In that position I was in charge of projects in the field of renewables, i.e. hydroelectric, wind and photovoltaic power. I have also worked in energy efficiency. I have recently moved on to a different field, which is hydrocarbons.
What is your educational background? After I graduated in Electronics Engineering with a focus on Industrial Automation at the University of Pavia, I joined Edison with an internship. Over the years I had the chance to do post-graduate courses in the technical subjects and business administration. Last year I took part in the Energy Business and Utilities course, jointly organised by Edison and University Politecnico di Milano to make Edison employees more familiar with the many facets of the company.
Where do you see yourself in the future? Working in the new hydrocarbon department is a great opportunity and a massive change for me; it's a totally new area where I hope I can develop my expertise both in the more technical aspects and in terms of management skills.
Any advice for those who are interested in joining Edison? Advice for graduates? Well, I would definitely say they should commit, be dedicated, hard-working and not afraid of dealing with unknown issues, and they will see their work rewarded.
