Edison: Luciano Sgubini appointed Senior Advisor to the group
Public disclosure required by Consob Resolution No. 11971 of May 14, 1999, as amended.
Milan, January 16, 2006 - Luciano Sgubini, 65 years old, was appointed today Senior Advisor to the Edison Group. Mr. Sgubini will participate in the development of the Hydrocarbons Operations and will report directly to Umberto Quadrino, Edison’s Chief Executive Officer.
More specifically, Mr. Sgubini, formerly Chief Operating Office of ENI’s Gas & Power Division, will contribute his professional expertise to the process of defining and implementing the strategies of Edison’s Hydrocarbons Operations, with the goal of strengthening the Group’s competitive position in the international markets.
The Hydrocarbons Operations are expected to provide momentum for Edison’s future growth. The Group has been busy building the Rovigo regasification terminal, the only such facility currently under construction in Italy, and is developing an additional terminal in Tuscany and gas pipelines linking Italy with Greece and Algeria. These infrastructural projects will provide Edison and Italy with more diversified and reliable sources of natural gas.
Mr. Sgubini’s international expertise will also help Edison evaluate new opportunities in hydrocarbon exploration and production.
