Edison donates 200 million euro to special emergency fund for fires in Greece

Adhering to its vast campaign of solidarity in Greece to alleviate the suffering of the thousands of people struck by the serious fires which recently devastated huge regions of the country, Edison Spa has granted 200 million euro to the Special Emergency Fund of the Hellenic Government.
The president of the Special Emergency Fund, Petro Molyviatis, “has offered his sincere thanks to Edison for its gesture of solidarity that denotes the sensitivity and interest of the Italian group towards Greece at this unhappy time.'' In addition, Molyviatis affirmed that the sum offered by Edison will add to the other donations and will be utilised in the reconstruction of 2900 destroyed homes.
Via its controlling company Edison Hellas, Edison has been present for diverse years in Greece, where it promotes important projects in the field of gas and electricity. It recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hellenic Petroleum for the formation of a joint-venture in the generation and electric energy trading sector.
